There is no doccumented risk factor for the development of arachnoid cysts.

Risk Factors

• There is no documented risk factor for the development of arachnoid cysts.

• There are, however, risk factors that may cause a pre-existing arachnoid cyst to bleed and these are: larger arachnoid cyst size and recent head trauma.
