Overview

A BCG-oma is an abscess caused by the BCG strain of Mycobacterium bovis. It follows incorrect administration of BCG (subcutaneous injection or administration in the context of immunosuppression).

Pharmacotherapy

BCG-oma is treated like any Mycobacterium bovis infection (isoniazid and rifampicin for nine months).
