Overview

There are no x-ray findings associated with beriberi.However, in advanced wet beriberi, the X-ray picture of heart failure may appear, including chamber enlargement, pleural effusion, and increased vascular markings.

X Ray

• There are no specific x-ray findings associated with beriberi.

• However, in the advanced stage of wet beriberi, the X-ray picture of heart failure may appear, including :
  • Cardiac chamber enlargement
  • Pleural effusion
  • Thickening of lung fissues
  • Kerley B lines (Thickening of interlobular septa)
  • Increased vascular markings
