CDC28 protein kinase, or Cell division control protein 28 is a protein kinase encoded by the budding yeast saccharomyces cerevisiae cdc28 gene and required for progression from the G1 to the S phase in the cell cycle. It is a complex of approximately 160 kD containing a substrate called p40. The human homolog to this yeast gene is CDC2Hs.
