Overview

In an analysis of 4518 HIV-infected patients it was found that more than half of the participants (51.5%) had either minor or major ECG abnormalities. Minor ECG abnormalities (48.6%) were more common than major ECG abnormalities (7.7%) [1].

Electrocardiogram

Possible EKG abnormalities in HIV infected patients include:

  • QT prolongation
  • Supraventricular ectopics
  • Ventricular ectopics
  • Non-specific ST-T changes
  • Non-specific Q-QS abnormalities
