Overview
Umbilical pain is pain localized in center of the abdomen. The pain can be focused on the umbilical region or radiate out to other parts of the abdomen. Appendicitis is a major consideration in the assessment of any patient with umbilical pain.

Life-threatening causes include conditions which result in death or permanent disability within 24 hours if left untreated.
