Overview
Magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS) may be helpful for the detection of neuroinflammation during histologic chorioamnionitis. Furthermore, it may suggest a poor neurodevelopmental outcome (e.g. motor development, cognitive development, etc.) in these infants.
Other Imaging Findings
The ratio of brain metabolites measured by magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS) may be helpful for the detection of neuroinflammation during histologic chorioamnionitis.[1]
- Abnormal ratios may suggest a poor neurodevelopmental outcome (motor development, cognitive development, and language development) in these infants, who cannot reach expected neurodevelopmental milestones at 1 year of age.
