Overview

CT scan with contrast and CT colonography or virtual colonoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of colon polyps. Outgrowths and filling defects are suggestive of colon polyps.

CT scan with contrast may be helpful in the diagnosis of colon polyps. Findings on CT scan with contrast suggestive of colon polyps include:^[1]
- Outgrowth
- Filling defect

CT colonography or virtual colonoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of colon polyps.
CT colonography is indicated in some patients, including:
- Incompleted, failed, or unfeasible colonoscopy
- Elderly and frail patients
Findings on CT colonography suggestive of colon polyps include:^[3]
- Visual detection of outgrowths from intestine
