Overview
There are no x-ray findings associated with cretinism. However, knee x-ray may be helpful in evaluating the severity of cretinism. Knee x-ray may show wide sagittal suture which indicates delayed bone maturation.

- An x-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of cretinism. X ray of the knee may be used in evaluating the severity of cretinism.
- X ray of the knee may show a wide sagittal suture which is an indicator of delayed bone maturation. Delayed bone maturation has been associated with anticipating of intellectual disability in patients with cretinism.[1][2]
