Overview
Cryptosporidiosis may be classified according to the affected organ system. In immunocompetent individuals, cryptospyoridiosis primarily affects the gastrointestinal system. Immunocompromised patients infected with cryptosporidiosis often have extragastrointestinal manifestions.
