Endogenous etiologies
- Atopic dermatitis
- Asteatotic eczema
- Hyperkeratotic dermatitis of the hand
- Pompholyx (dyshidrotic eczema)
- Nummular eczema
- Lichen simplex chronicus (neurodermatitis)
- Stasis dermatitis
- Seborrheic dermatitis
- Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
Exogenous etiologies
- Irritant dermatitis (due to water, detergents, chemicals [i.e., solvents, alkalis], friction, heat, low humidity)
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Photoallergic contact dermatitis
- Post-traumatic eczema
- Dermatophytid reaction
- Tinea
- Candidal dermatitis
