Overview
Epidural hematoma may be classified to into three groups: Traumatic epidural hematoma which is the main cause of epidural hematoma, spontaneous spinal epidural hematomas and postoperative epidural spinal hematoma.

Epidural hematoma may be classified to into three groups:[1][2]
- Traumatic epidural hematoma which is the main cause of epidural hematoma and may be divided to two subtypes:
- Traumatic acute epidural hematoma
- Traumatic delayed epidural hematoma
- Spontaneous spinal epidural hematomas
- Postoperative epidural spinal hematoma
