Overview

Apart from laboratory work up investigations like echocardiography and ultrasound may be helpful in finding cause of FUO provided the diagnostic clues are present which makes these investigation essential.[1]

  1. Echocardiography should be performed when suspecting endocarditis. echocardiography in this case shows growths on heart valve leaflets.[2]
  2. Hepatobiliary pathology may be detected by abdominal ultrasonography.
