Halzoun's syndrome is the common name for the infection of L. serrata in the naspharyngial tract of humans. This syndrome is also known as Marrara in Sudan, after a dish of raw stomach, lung, trachea, and liver of sheep, goats, or camels, which is often responsible for the transmission of the parasite to humans.
