Head and Neck pathology is the subspecialty of surgical pathology which deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the neck, scalp, face, ears, paranasal sinuses, nasal cavity, oral cavity, salivary glands, pharynx, and larynx. In the academic setting, head and neck pathologists work closely with head and neck surgeons and other otolaryngologists. There is some overlap between the expertise of head and neck pathologists and that of endocrine pathologists and dental pathologists.
