Overview
headaches in children may be classified according to presence or absence of underlying disorder into two subtypes: primary headache disorders and secondary headache disorders. Based on the duration of symptoms, headaches in children may be classified as either acute or chronic.

Headaches in children may be classified according to the presence or absence of an underlying disorder into two subtypes:[1]
- Primary headache disorders not associated with an underlying disorder. These include migraine[2],tension-type headaches[2], or chronic daily headache[3].
- Secondary headache disorders are headaches that are associated with underlying disorders. These include the following:
