Overview
Humanistic Geriatrics is a branch of geriatrics concerned with the integration of humanistic principles into the practice of medicine, particularly the care of older people.
Humanistic Geriatrics was developed as a response to the overwhelming influence of modern technology, science and evidence based medicine that often treats the patient at the expense of their individuality as a person. The term was developed from a combination of Humanism and Humanistic Psychology by Dr R Kersh.
