Local/regional therapy recommended for the management of Kaposi's sarcoma patients may include surgical excision, cryotherapy, and sclerotherapy. Local excision of Kaposi's sarcoma is typically done for localized lesions that are symptomatic (not advanced disease). It is also done for cosmetically unacceptable lesions.
