Overview
The symptoms of the aneurysm depend on it's size. Small and medium-sized aneurysms are usually asymptomatic, but large-sized aneurysms may present as persistent chest pain and dyspnea, despite the proper treatment of the underlying cardiac condition.
History
A detailed history of cardiovascular risk factors, and a history of the underlying cardiac disease (MI, HCM or DCM) must be obtain.
Symptoms
Depending on the size of the aneurysm, the symptoms may vary.[1]
- Small and medium-sized aneurysms may only present with angina.
- Large aneurysms usually present with persistent chest pain and dyspnea despite the treatment of the underlying cardiac event.[2]
