MEM, or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethoxyamphetamine, is a lesser-known psychedelic drug. It is a dimethoxy-ethoxy analog of TMA-2. MEM was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin. In his book PIHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved), the dosage range is listed as 20-50 mgs, and the duration listed as 10-14 hours. MEM produces insights, and augments the effects of other drugs, like 2C-D. Shulgin gives it a +++ on the Shulgin Rating Scale. Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of MEM.
