Possible Complications
Complications of mediastinal tumors include:
- Spinal cord compression
- Spread to nearby structures such as the heart, lining around the heart (pericardium), and great vessels (aorta and vena cava)
- Radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy can all have serious complications.
