Overview
A placenta bag is usually prepared by the baby's mother. It can be as simple as a clean pillow slip or custom made with a cord cover and decorated. Any breathable fabric can be used but a non-slip material such as velvet is preferable for manageability. It should be large enough to contain a fresh placenta and larger if you plan to pack the placenta with salt and cover with a placenta cloth before placing into the bag. A placenta bag is commonly used when the parents choose to have a Lotus Birth.
