Overview
Thoracic CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of pulmonary edema. Findings on CT scan diagnostic of hydrostatic pulmonary edema include cardiomegaly, vascular engorgment, pleural effusions.

Thoracic CT scan may be helpful in the diagnosis of pulmonary edema. Findings on CT scan diagnostic of hydrostatic pulmonary edema include:
- Cardiomegaly
- Vascular engorgement
- Pleural effusions
Findings on CT scan diagnostic of interstitial pulmonary edema include:
- Bronchial wall thickening
- Smooth interlobular septal thickening
- Ground-glass opacity (often with hazy, poorly defined centrilobular nodules)
