- Protein losing enteropathy
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Malnutrition
- Cirrhosis
- Hemodialysis
- Intestinal lymphangiectasia
- Protein-losing gastroenteropathy
- Nephrotic syndrome
- Thymoma [1]

- Environmental hazards:
- Ionizing radiation
- Toxins
- Infections
- Viral(Herpes, Measles)
- Bacterial(Mycobacterial)
- Parasitic(Malaria, helminthic infections)
