Chest x ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of thymic carcinoma. A chest X-ray is the first step in the diagnosis of thymic carcinoma and is normally an incidental finding. Some thymic carcinomas may be associated with pleural effusion that could also be seen in the chest x-ray.
