Overview
Chest and dental x-rays may be performed to detect metastases of tongue cancer to the lungs and mandible.
Chest X Ray
Chest radiographs may be used in the evaluation for distant metastasis of tongue cancer to the chest.
Dental radiographs
Periapical dental films may provide fine details and are the most useful for detecting minimal invasion of the mandible as compared with CT scans and panoramic radiographs which show gross bony destruction.
