I graduated as an MD in 2016 from a leading medical school in Iran, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, followed by an MPH in 2018. Currently I work as a physician/researcher. Since my early years as a medical student, I was interested in neurological diseases and the puzzles of their diagnosis. I have been involved in various settings of research in this field, from experimental studies to clinical trials. After beginning my studies in public health, I focused on the epidemiology of stroke and cardiovascular diseases, working on one of the first large cohort studies from the Middle East in the past four years. During this time, besides publishing longitudinal studies, I have been working on review studies. Meanwhile, I have participated in educating patients with chronic diseases and their families, esp. those suffering from post-stroke complications, dementia, and epilepsy, in several occasions. I strongly believe that increasing access to education is as vital as improving access to healthcare and I am determined to move towards this goal besides perusing my career.
