I was born and raised in a remote village in Nepal where there were no proper educational facilities. Despite that, fortunately, at the age of about six, I began my schooling in a town where I stayed in a hostel. I have been a bright student in my school and college days where I was among the top 3 percent of students in academics. I have been a poet, dancer, singer, soccer, volleyball, and cricket player. I didn’t feel hesitation in anchoring and organizing the programs. I want to recall an incident that happened 2 years back. After a decade, I went to my school and one of my teachers (Mr. Avinsah) introduced me to his current students and told them that he is the one about whom I used to talk about. He mentioned that he has been giving my example as a role model for his students. It was one of my moments of pride and pleasure. Furthermore, during my college days, I won the 14th SET exhibition competition in the field of Environment and I also volunteered in organizing a blood donation campaign being a member of the Red cross society of my college. I joined the medical school with great enthusiasm and excitement. By being the class representative, treasurer of my medical school student council, I organized many programs such as the Welcome program, Farewell program, Sports weeks, etc. I have also participated in sports events, performed cultural dances winning many trophies. I engaged as a volunteer during the earthquake time in Kathmandu University Hospital and helping those in need was one of my guiding experiences which boosted and fueled my journey of being a doctor, a worthy profession. With reference to my excellent and dedicated performance during my internship phase, Kathmandu University Hospital recruited me as a Medical Officer where I developed and refined my professional skills. I needed to visit the Outreach Centers weekly to serve in the rural sectors of Nepal and provide treatment at the community level. I also got the opportunity to participate in different free health camps, conferences, presentations, and seminars. I felt the need to serve the needy people in remote parts of my country, so I started to work in a Health Center in Sindhuli and provided my best services for about 6 months. I got a chance to work with the communities in real settings. While I was working there, I felt the need to maximize the horizon of my interest and hence started preparing for the USMLE Examinations. Then, I came back to Kathmandu and began interacting and treating International patients in Metro Kathmandu Hospital. Meantime, I also worked as a social worker in the orphanage, DoctorsOnCall Pvt. Ltd and during the terai flood crisis. Currently, I am working as a Medical officer in the Maldives under the Ministry of Health. I am fond of traveling and I still remember the difficulty I felt while trekking in Tilicho Lake, Langtang, and Everest region. There was a moment when I felt I couldn't breathe anymore due to altitude sickness. I don't know what drove me to continue trekking and reach the altitude of 5360 m of Renjo La pass.
