Medical student at McMaster University, ON, Canada. In a previous life, I was a graduate student and then post-doc in philosophy. My post-doc was at Cornell. But, I decided to leave philosophy to pursue a career in medicine. I did this because I wanted a career (really, a life) that combines the intellectual joys and virtues of academia with a greater opportunity to do some good. Plus, the switch made it easy for me to move back home to Canada, which is pretty great too.
