Dr. Suzanna Hosein is a second year family medicine resident at Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury, NJ where she is focusing on narrowing the gaps in care in medically underserved communities. She is also interested in medication assisted treatment for opiate dependence and treating opiate dependence in pregnancy. Suzanna graduated in June, 2017 from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She attended Georgetown University, where she received a Master’s Degree in Physiology and Biophysics. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Suzanna has an extensive research background, as well as volunteer experience. During medical school, she completed the Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship Program, through which she gained experience working with underserved and disadvantaged communities from an interdisciplinary perspective. She also did volunteer work in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to assist with the construction of a clinic. Suzanna currently lives in Philadelphia with her husband and golden retriever, and in her spare time enjoys cooking, hiking and camping. Before starting medical school, Suzanna and her husband went on an 8,000-mile cross-country road trip to nine national parks.
