Overview
Papilledema usually regresses if the underlying cause is treated and if not, it can lead to vision loss.
Natural History
- The patient should be examined weekly untill stabilization of the ocular findings occurs.
- Well-developed papilledema takes 6-10 weeks to regress, following lowering of intracranial pressure.
Complications
- Vision loss can occur if underlying condition is not treated.
