Overview
Ultrasonography of the breast may be performed to detect the breast cancer associated with Paget's disease of the breast. It must be considered as a part of the initial evaluation in patients with negative mammography.
Ultrasonography
- Ultrasonography of the breast may be performed to detect the breast cancer associated with Paget's disease of the breast.
- Ultrasonography may be helpful and must be considered especially in patients with negative mammography as a part of their initial evaluation.[1]
- Most findings of ultrasonography may be nonspecific and may resemble those in cases of infection.
- The images may reveal areas of parenchymal heterogenecity, hypoechoic regions, discrete masses, skin thickening or dilated ducts.[2]
