Overview
Paget-Schroetter disease is not diagnosed based on laboratory findings since except D-dimer, other laboratory values are commonly normal
Laboratory Findings
- Elevated D-dimer[1]
- Elevated D-dimer level has only 14-60% specificity in upper extremity vein thrombosis.[2]
- Since the Paget-Schroetter disease is rare, there is no established data supporting routine D-dimer test or a definitive diagnostic tool.[3]
- To exclude other differential diagnosis consider laboratory workups from the list below:
