Overview
There is no routine screening guideline for patent ductus arteriosus screening, but if it diagnosed early, it can benefit preterm neonates.
Screening
- Patent ductus arteriosus is often diagnosed pre-partum by ultrasonography.[1][2]
- It can benefit extremely premature neonates by reducing short term mortality of those.[3][4]
- Checking for PDA is not a routine screening and is often times a random finding.[5]
