Medical Therapy

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy may be considered in some cases, especially for those with stage 3 and 4 disease. Cisplatin is an inhibitor of DNA synthesis and is preferred.

Hormonal therapy

Hormonal therapy with progestins and antiestrogens has been used for the treatment of endometrial stromal sarcomas.

Contraindicated medications

Endometrial cancer is considered an absolute contraindication to the use of the following medications:

• Drospirenone and Ethinyl estradiol
• Norethindrone acetate and Ethinyl estradiol
• Norgestimate and Ethinyl estradiol
• Norgestrel and Ethinyl estradiol
