Overview
Discharge (milky or pus-like) from the penis, stinging or burning during urination, itching, tingling, burning or irritation inside the penis.
History
A detailed and thorough history from the patient is necessary. Specific areas of focus when obtaining a history from the patient include:[1]
- 1- Recent sexual activities
- 2- Number of sex partners or any new partner
- 3- Using condom
- 4- History of prior STDs
Symptoms
Common symptoms of urethritis include:[2][3]
Dysuria
- Overall, dysuria is present in majority of patients with gonorrheal urethritis and over half of patients with nongonococcal urethritis.
Urethral dyscharge
- It could be small amount of meatal moisture or apparent discharge of clear or frankly purulent with a wide range of colors.
