Overview
Myocardial infarction is by far the most common cause of LV aneurysm formation. less common causes include HCM, trauma, idiopathic and congenital abnormalities.
Causes
The most common cause of LV aneurysm is myocardial infarction. It counts for approximately 90% of apical aneurysms.[1] Other less common causes include:[2][3][4][5][6][7]
- HCM
- DCM
- Trauma
- Idiopathic
- Congenital
- Iatrogenic
- Sarcoidosis
