History and Symptoms
The hallmark of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is nephrotic-range proteinuria.[1]
History
Patients with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis may have a positive history of:
- Positive family history of FSGN
- Heroin abuse
- Chronic viral infections such as hepatitis B
- Medications such as bisphosphonates
Common Symptoms
Common symptoms of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis include:[2][3]
- Proteinuria
- Hematuria
- Anasarca
- Headache and blurry vision which is suggestive of high blood pressure
Less Common Symptoms
Less common symptoms of [disease name] include

- Malaise
- Symptoms of chronic renal failure such as anuria, edema
