Laboratory studies should also be considered in all patients with epidural hematoma, including:
- A complete blood count to check for thrombocytopenia
- Coagulation studies (PTT, PT/INR) to check for coagulopathy
- Basic metabolic panel to check for electrolyte abnormalities
