Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a rare malignant tumor characterized by an abundant accumulation of mucinous ascites in viscera of organs and intraperitoneal cavity. The gold standard treatment consists of cytoreductive surgery and perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy and/or adjuvant chemotherapy. Most cases of pseudomyxoma peritonei have no sign or symptoms but abdominal tenderness, abdominal distention and hernia may present.
