Overview
A chest X-ray maybe not helpful in the diagnosis tricuspid stenosis but it is a useful tool to identify the concurrent conditions such as dyspnea caused by concomitant valve disease.
X-ray
- A chest X-ray may be not helpful in the diagnosis tricuspid stenosis but it is an useful tool to identify the concurrent conditions such as dyspnea caused by concomitant valve disease which includes mitral stenosis.[1]
- A chest X-ray may be helpful in estimating the cardiac size which may range from normal to enlarged.
- Right atrial enlargement may be prominent but it is non-specific.
- Left atrial enlargement may be present.
- Pulmonary edema is evident in some cases.
- A straight left heart border is evident in some cases.
- Findings specific to a particular associated congenital heart disease may also be seen.
- Looped atrial or ventricular leads may be seen on chest X-ray especially in patients with tricuspid stenosis which are caused by endocardial pacemaker leads.
