Overview
Tremor is primarily diagnosed based on the clinical presentation. Diagnosing the underlying cause of tremor is also a clinical diagnosis based on, a detailed history taking, observing patient as they enter the room and during history taking, followed by a focused physical exam.

- A detailed history taking
- Observing patient when they enter the room and during history taking.
- Focused physical examination
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (IPMDS) task force defines ET by the following four features[1]: Isolated tremor of bilateral upper limb, without other motor abnormalities, lasting at least three years, no neurological signs, and with or without a tremor in other locations.
