Overview
There are no MRI findings associated with pneumoconiosis but may be helpful to differentiate between other pathologies by using a T2W imaging sequence [1] [2]
MRI
MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of pneumoconiosis by excluding other pathologies. For example: [3] [4]
- MRIs can differentiate between progressive massive fibrosis in pneumoconiosis with lung cancer. Progressive massive fibrosis would show low signal intensity while lung cancer shows high signal intensity.
