Overview
MRI Findings
- The T2 relaxation enhancement induced by interactions between high-molecular-weight iron complexes such as ferritin, hemosiderin, and deferoxamine with water molecules is the basis for the MRI evaluation of tissue iron overload. This enhancement can be seen when the tissue contains excessive iron.[1]
