History & symptoms

• May be asymptomatic

• Usually present with signs or symptoms of elevated intracranial pressure, such as
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vommiting
  • Diplopia
  • Ataxia
  • Altered consciousness

• May progress to enlargement of the blind spot, blurring of vision and visual obscurations (inability to see in a particular part of the visual field for a period of time)

• Total loss of vision may occur.
