Overview
A rhabdomyoma is a benign tumor of striated muscle. It is most commonly associated with the tongue and heart, but can also occur in other locations.
Classification Scheme
The malignant form of rhabdomyoma is called rhabdomyosarcoma.
Epidemiology and Demographics
Cardiac rhabdomyomas most frequently occurs in infants and young children and have an association with tuberous sclerosis.
