Medical Therapy
Treatment is primarily supportive and includes:
- Minimizing invasive procedures
- Balancing electrolytes since patients are frequently dehydrated
- Replacing lost coagulation factors to help stop bleeding
- Maintaining oxygen and blood levels
- Treating any complicating infections.
