History and Symptoms

• Symptoms depend on:
  • Ventricular rate
  • Duration of tachycardia
  • Presence and extent of the underlying heart disease and peripheral vascular disease.

• Symptoms generally consists of:
  • Palpitation
  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Light-headedness (dizziness)
  • Syncope
  • Neck fullness due to jugular venous distension
