Overview
Chest X ray abnormalities in HIV infected patients are seen in presence of congestive cardiac failure and pericardial effusions. These include cardiomegaly and pulmonary congestion.
Chest X Ray
Chest x-ray findings are the same as those seen in congestive heart failure and pericardial effusion. These include:
- Kerley B lines or thickening of the interlobular septa
- Peribronchial cuffing
- Thickening of the fissures
- Cephalization
- Increased vascular markings
- Interstitial edema
- Pleural effusions
