Overview
History and Symptoms
A directed history should be obtained to ascertain:
- Symptom progression
- Associated complaints
- Urinary complaints
- Exposure to medications and illness
- Past medical history (including previous episodes of discomfort)
Acute Abdomen
Patients with an Ischemic type of acute abdomen present with symptoms of:
- Diffuse abdominal pain
- Bowel distension
- Bloody diarrhea
